what is discipleshipAs followers of Jesus Christ, it’s surprising how many of us are unfamiliar with the concept of discipleship.  After all, isn’t that what Jesus called us to be?  But leading another person to a stronger relationship with Christ can be difficult, especially when you feel you need to learn more yourself.  After reading Bill Hull’s Book, “The Complete Book of Discipleship – On Being and Making Followers of Christ” Bill Hull encourages all believers to learn about discipleship.

A recent blog entitled “What is Discipleship? Read Bill Hull’s Complete Book of Discipleship,” it says that the Navigators author has written several books about discipleship for a reason.  Bill Hull feels strongly about the importance of discipleship in any body of believers.  In the Complete Book of Discipleship, Mr. Hull provides an exhaustive resource on every topic pertaining to discipleship by covering subjects such as disciple-making, spiritual transformation and spiritual growth.  He simply started this journey by asking the question, “What is Discipleship?” and this remarkable book is what followed.

Without someone who is able to guide them in their newfound Christian faith, young Christians may not mature in their faith.  In his discipleship books, Bill Hull recommends a solid Discipleship Bible Reading Plan, as well as a ten week series on the Christian living called “Choose the Life.”  Many believe that God has granted Bill Hull the words to write specifically on this topic for such a time as this, when the church is becoming lukewarm in many areas.  By focusing on disciple-making with the local church and beyond, members of evangelical Christian churches can be “salt and light” in the community.

Other books by Bill Hull that answer the question, “What is Discipleship?” include books like Jesus Christ Disciple Maker and the Disciple Making Church.  Many of Hull’s books have been used in ministry training to help ensure that everyone in church leadership is on the same page.  His teachings are rooted in two decades of pastoral service and a vibrant ministry through the Navigators.

If you are interested in changing yourself and other church leaders into highly motivated disciples of Christ, start by reading this book for yourself first; then use it as a way to help others become firmly rooted in their Christian faith.
